In not so sexy real estate news, Floor & Decor – a specialty retailer of hard surface flooring including tile, wood, stone – has been approved on Tuesday by the Zoning Board of Appeals to take over a portion of the old National Wholesale Liquidators building on Morrissey Boulevard.

Back in 2018, it was revealed that National Wholesale Liquidators had filed for bankruptcy and then closed its location on Morrissey Blvd.

Residents began to daydream about potential business that could replace it. Trader Joe’s? Whole Foods? A village of small independent retail shops? Nope, flooring. Oh well!

According to Universal Hub, Floor & Decor will spruce up the strip mall area by adding more trees and shrubs, installing a new MBTA bus shelter and stop, plus a new drainage system under the parking lot – and repave the parking lot of their neighbors, CVS.  So that’s good news!
