Universal Hub is reporting that the Zoning Board of Appeal approved plans to turn the old Sozio store in Neponset Circle into a marijuana delivery service called Zip Run.
Zip Run basically works like this, cannabis dispensaries from across the state can pay to have their storefront on ziprun.com. People can shop, place and order and track it too. Zip Run will then charge a fee for deliveries.
Similar to alcohol delivery apps like Drizly, customers will have to prove they’re 21 plus. Zip Run’s delivery vehicles will not have signage so it will be discreet when making marijuana deliveries.
There will be security upgrades to the building and the company hopes to hire 30 people for full and part time jobs.
Mattapan native and CEO of Zip Run, Gabe Vieira agreed to not turn the location into a retail shop during the meeting.
