Dorchester North Burying Ground Tour

This weekend is your chance to roam inside the Dorchester North Burying Ground and learn about its history during a special event hosted by the Boston Preservation Alliance and Comfort Kitchen. The Burial Ground will be open on Sunday from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm for tours with light bites and spooky cocktails also available for purchase. Register here!

Immersive Art Display

The ILLUMINUS Dorchester activation will transform an old tire shop on Dot Ave. with new multimedia immersive works this Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 10pm. Located at 1160 Dorchester Ave., the free event will also include dance performances, interactive theater, transformational projection mapping, and more for an event that promises to be inspiring, fun, moving, and distinctly Dorchester. The project showcases the talents of four local artists who call Dorchester home: Azia Carlie, Makeda Wallace, PeeJay Clarke and Sam Lê Shave. Fields Corner Library Closing Party

The Fields Corner Branch of Boston Public Library will close next week for a $30M renovation. But before they do, the Friends of the Fields Corner Branch are hosting a special event to say goodbye! Don’t miss the Grand Closing party this Saturday from 12pm to 2pm for a chance to gather in the building one last time for crafts, reminiscing, and to recognize the wonderful library staff for everything they do for our local community.

Roxbury Mural Celebration

The City of Boston is hosting a special unveiling ceremony to celebrate the installation of three brand new murals at the Malcolm X Park Basketball Court located at 150 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Roxbury. The free community event takes place Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm and will showcase the vibrant new basketball court murals that pay tribute to Roxbury, the beauty of Malcolm X Park, and the lasting impact of Malcolm X. There will also be food, music and other family friendly activities.

Savin Hill Halloween Parade

The 15th annual Savin Hill Little Kids Halloween parade returns to McConnell Playground this Sunday! Children are invited to line up in their costumes starting at 3pm, with the parade kicking off at 3:15pm Sunday. Participants will trick-or-treat their way down Savin Hill Avenue and end at Savin Hill park to enjoy plenty of fall fun and activities for the whole family. The event is free and open to all. Don’t forget to bring your candy bag!

Fall-O-Ween Children’s Festival

Mayor Michelle Wu and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will host the fourth annual Fall-o-Ween Children’s Festival on the Boston Common Parade Ground at the corner of Beacon and Charles Streets on Friday, October 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  You can get all the fun details here!
