Looking for a fun way to spend your Sunday? On Sunday, August 9, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Art & Soul Clinic, the Neponset River Watershed Association, and Boston Harbor Now are hosting a free community bike tour and art-making event along the Neponset River Greenway.

The casual, five-mile group ride will travel from Mattapan to Victory Road Park, with stops along the way to learn about the rich history of the Neponset River and surrounding neighborhoods. Once riders arrive at Victory Road Park, enjoy live music from DJ Basi B, an art activity, free refreshments while supplies last, and food from local vendors including Breeze Gourmet Catering and The Slushy Lady.

The ride is geared toward adults ages 18 and older and is designed to bring together movement, creativity, local history, and time outdoors.

Participants can meet at 7 Brush Hill Road beginning at 1:30 p.m., with the ride departing just before 2 p.m., or join at the Mattapan T Station.

Will they be giving out clothes pins for everyone to wear on their noses to block out the smell of doggie doo doo? DCR has allowed the multimillion-dollar Victory Road Park to become a de facto dog park, despite the fact that it is directly on the Neponset River Estuary.
