Sofar Sounds at Boston Harbor Distillery

Walk with a Doc

Do you have questions about preventing cancer, heart disease, diabetes and more? Mass General Brigham Center for Community Wellness invites residents to join them for a quick walk with doctors and other special guests who can answer questions about common health concerns. Guests should meet at the All Dorchester Sports & Leadership building at 1565 Dorchester Avenue at 10am every Saturday through October 26. Free health resources, screenings and light refreshments will be available following the walks.

Commonwealth Fest

Pioneered by Dorchester’s own Cousin Stizz, this inaugural hip-hop festival celebrates both local and national artists, reflecting Boston’s diverse cultural tapestry and providing a platform for local talent. More than just an event, it’s a cultural movement that connects Boston’s distinct cultural identity with a broader audience, providing a stage for local talent to gain wider recognition and acclaim. The festival, which was rescheduled from last year due to weather, takes place this Saturday from 12pm to 8pm at City Hall Plaza in Boston. Tickets are free but RSVP is required.

Boston Firefighters Road Race

Don’t miss the Boston Firefighters 10K Road Race this Sunday starting at 9am at Florian Hall. Indigenous Peoples’ Day Plant and Tree Walk

Join Aquinnah Wampanoag artist and cultural steward Elizabeth James-Perry on an educational nature walk in recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day this Monday starting at 10:30am in Fenway. This guided, family-friendly activity will highlight Indigenous cultural cuisine, architectural tribal uses and responsible stewardship practices in the lands and waters now known as the Back Bay Fens. Many of the city’s museums are also offering free admission on Monday.
