Check out Butterfly Hollow

Butterfly Hollow, the popular, immersive seasonal habitat, opens for the season on May 27 (weather permitting) at Franklin Park Zoo. A seasonal oasis of tranquility, Butterfly Hollow is an indoor space filled with bright butterflies, soothing music, beautiful native flowers and a small pond. As guests stroll through the space, they will be delighted by delicate butterflies fluttering around them. This seasonal habitat highlights the important role of pollinators in healthy ecosystems and the ways we help them thrive. While strolling through the space, be sure to look for the whimsical fairy houses nestled within the landscape. In addition to butterflies, Butterfly Hollow is also home to Baikal teal, a small, dabbling duck, and Eve, the common cooter. At over 50 years old, Eve is one of the oldest residents at Franklin Park Zoo. You can learn more here!

Slow Flow on Saturday

Register to Run Dorchester Day 5K

Join the Dorchester Running Club and the Blarney Stone and run the Dorchester Day 5k!  The race begins and ends at the Blarney Stone (1505 Dot Ave) and is an out-and-back down Dot Ave towards Lower Mills, turning around in front of the Carney Hospital. T-Shirt will be available to the first 100 registrants!

Pre-Race Entry Fee: Adults $30/Children 11 and under $15
Day of Race Entry Fee: Adult $35/ Children 11 and under $20

Each registration includes a wristband for the post-race BBQ at the Blarney Stone! Additional wristbands and DRC swag will be available the day of. You can register here! 

The Return of Black Owned Bos. Market

Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market returns to the Seaport neighborhood for its fourth year with a record of over 60 vendors for the market’s 2023 season. Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market was named the Best Retail Pop Up of 2021 by Boston Magazine for its eclectic collection and innovative ways to support local businesses owned by traditionally underrepresented groups. Backyahd Run Club

Inspired by the Boston Marathon and want to get moving? Join the Backyahd Run Club launching this Saturday at 10am from Backyahd at 28 District Ave (South Bay).  All paces, all faces – 3-5 miles (route depending).
