On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan/Dorchester) arrested Omaila Medina, 41, of Boston, following an armed robbery at the CVS Pharmacy located at 468 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester.
At approximately 1:30 PM, officers responded to a radio call for a person armed with a knife inside the store. Upon arrival, they located a female suspect matching the description who was in possession of eight boxes of ice cream. Officers quickly detained the individual, later identified as Omaila Medina.
The investigation revealed that Medina had allegedly pulled a knife on a store employee before fleeing with the frozen goods. Fortunately, the ice cream was recovered and returned to the store.
A query revealed that Medina was also wanted on nine outstanding arrest warrants for various offenses. She was taken into custody without incident.
Medina was arraigned in Dorchester District Court on a charge of Armed Robbery, in addition to the outstanding warrants.
