Boston Latin Academy Security Official Charged with Rape

A Boston Public Schools security official has been arrested and charged with rape following an alleged incident at the Massachusetts State Police barracks on Martha’s Vineyard in August.
According to The Boston Globe, Edward J. Brown, 27, of Boston, was arrested on Friday, October 9th, at Boston Latin Academy, where he worked as an assistant director of security.
Prosecutors allege Brown sexually assaulted a woman he met at a bar in Oak Bluffs after bringing her back to the State Police barracks, where he was staying with a trooper friend. The woman was later found outside the barracks calling for help.
Brown pleaded not guilty to the rape charge during his arraignment on Tuesday. He was ordered held on $10,000 bail.
Boston Public Schools confirmed that Brown has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest. The district also stated that the allegations do not involve BPS students.
The case remains under investigation, and Brown is scheduled to return to court on December 3rd.
