Hasbro, the iconic toy maker of classics like Play-Doh, Nerf, and Connect Four, could be moving into the neighborhood.
According to the Boston Globe, Hasbro is relocating from Pawtucket, RI and has Boston in its sight for its headquarters and is focusing on the Southline* development on Morrissey Boulevard.
Shirley Leung reports for the Globe that a team of Hasbro executives toured sites over the summer looking for roughly 250,000 square feet of space, making it the largest tenant currently seeking space in Boston’s office market. Wowza.
Nothing is etched in stone, however. So we shall see. You can get all he details here.
Hasbro is not the only toy company potentially moving to Boston. Lego is moving its Northeast headquarters from Connecticut to Boylston Street in the Back Bay.
* If Southline sounds familiar, it’s because they are the developer who called Dorchester Seaport South. Please, just stop.
Editor’s note: Little know fact, I used to work as a “kid wrangler” on photo shoots for Hasbro for several years. Maybe I’ll come out of retirement if they move to Dorchester.
