Dorchester murder case update
The man who was the lookout and getaway driver in the murder of a Dorchester gas station clerk “acted in the same capacity as the gunman” prosecutors said. According to CBS local, Gregory Simmons, 26, was charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Jose Luis Phinn Williams.
Back in October of 2018, Williams was shot and killed during an attempted robbery at a Washington Street gas station where he worked.
Initially, another suspect was arrested by Boston police but charges were later dropped against him. That suspect spent five weeks in jail but was release due to insufficient evidence.
Simmons was arrested on Monday. It is alleged that he helped a masked gunman who is “known to the Commonwealth” flee the scene.
