Last month it was reported that gas station clerk, Jose Williams, 67, was shot and killed during an attempted robbery at Fabian Gas Station in Dorchester. Kevin Williams, 21 of Dorchester was arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and attempted robbery.
On Friday, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office dropped the murder charge against Williams after spending five weeks in jail held without bail due to insufficient evidence. He was released Friday.
According to Mass News Live, Suffolk District Attorney John P. Pappas said they made the decision to withdraw charges after reviewing the evidence gathered since the October 6th incident.
The BPD will continue with the investigation.
