Last week, the Boston Planning and Development Agency approved two proposals to ultimately transform the Uphams Corner neighborhood including one project at 555 Columbia Road (the old Bank of America Building) and 559 Columbia Road (a parking lot) plus the Strand Theater located at 543 Columbia Road.
The BPDA also announced a request for proposal for proponents to: 1) deliver affordable housing; 2) deliver affordable commercial space; 3) deliver core and shell for a community space anticipated to be used for a branch library; and 4) operate the Strand Theatre.
