Movie Night at The LOT
Enjoy a FREE movie showing of Toy Story at The LOT this Thursday, August 15th. Doors will open at 7PM for pre-show activities, including games and face painting! The movie begins at 8PM, and attendees are allowed entry throughout the show. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase in the cantina. Limited chairs will be available; be sure to bring your own chairs and blankets for extra comfort! Keep Carney Hospital Open Public Hearing
Be informed. Get involved. The Department of Public Health is hosting a public hearing on the proposed closure of Carney Hospital. This public meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 13th, at 6 p.m., at Florian Hall, 55 Hallet Street.
JFK Library After Dark
The JFK Library will be open to the public on Wednesday, August 14th from 5pm-8pm with Late Night at the JFK Library! This special event celebrates jazz’s role in the civil rights movement. You can check out special artifacts, learn the history of jazz and civil rights with author Larry Tye and his new book The Jazzmen: How Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, and Count Basie Transformed America, and enjoy live music with local musicians. Drinks and snacks will also be available for purchase! Visitors will also receive free admission to the Museum. Learn about JFK’s formative years in the Young Jack exhibit, join him on the campaign trail up through election night, and experience the 1,000 days of his presidency in the galleries. Saigon Swirl, an Asian-American-inspired froyo pop-up, is officially open! Operating exclusively for three weekends at Pho Hoa Restaurant, this exciting new pop-up is Boston youth-operated and brought to you by Boston Little Saigon in collaboration with Pho Hoa Restaurant and Reign Drink Lab. New Neighborhood Liaison for Dorchester – Meet Madison Foley
Mayor Michelle Wu announced Madison Foley as the new Dorchester Liaison in the Office of Neighborhood Services. The Office of Neighborhood Services is integral in connecting residents to City services and resources, facilitating resident input in all aspects of local government, ensuring the appropriate City departments respond to constituent service requests, attending neighborhood meetings, and responding to emergencies such as fires to help displaced residents.
