A woman and a baby were shot on Monday night in Dorchester. BPD is searching for the gunman who got away.
NBC10 Boston is reporting that BPD responded to a call around 11:40pm to the area of Ames and Stratton streets after a Shot Spotter was alerted and 911 calls for a baby shot.
Police found an adult female and a baby with gunshot wounds in a driveway. The baby was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman is expected to be okay.
“This is a pretty heinous act in general, pretty cowardly,” Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox said early Tuesday. “I can’t think of any reason why somebody would shoot both a female and a young child for any reason, so we really need the public’s help and support on this one.”
This is an active investigation.
