New Fall Menu at Yellow Door Taqueria

Calling All Teen Writers

Join GrubStreet’s Young Adult Writers Program (YAWP), a FREE creative writing workshop for Boston-area high schoolers. Geek out on writing/reading will fellow teen writers virtually. There’s an open mic at the end when reading is optional, and snaps and claps are always welcome. This month’s session meets Saturday, October 17th from 12pm-3pm. You can check out the schedule here! 

Meatloaf is Back at 224 Boston Street

Fall Brunch Pop Up at Ripple Cafe

Discover Vegans – home of the Haitian Patty will be popping up at at Ripple Cafe on Sunday, October 18th from 11am-3pm. Get there on time before all the amazing vegan food runs out. ? (Due to Covid regulations, there will be no inside seating)

Fish + Chips

Chez Vous Roller Rink is hosting a fish + chips fundraiser on Sunday from 2pm-6pm. You can even order it on Doordash or Grubhub and have it delivered!

Early Voting

In Massachusetts there’s an early voting period before the general election early voting to run from Oct. 17 to Oct. 30. This is for in-person voting. You can find a list of early voting locations in the City of Boston here! If you’d like to send in your vote by mail ballot, you can do that at anytime before Tuesday, November 3rd for the general election. You can learn more about this here. Not registered? You have until October 24th. Here’s some more helpful information about voting and the election! 

Social Distanced Clean-Up (DATE CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER)

Make a plan to head to Cedar Grove Cemetery and volunteer for a good old fashioned clean up on October 24th from 8am-12pm. Don’t forget your mask!

Take A Hike

While crossing state lines may not be in everyone’s best interest, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy the foliage right here in our backyard! Head to Blue Hills Reservation to enjoy all the fall colors and views of the city all while keeping a safe distance from your fellow leaf peepers. COVID practices for the park are outlined here.

National Pasta Day is Saturday!

Celebrate National Pasta Day this weekend in the neighborhood! Some of our favorites include the Shrimp Scampi at Venezia, dbar’s penne bolognaise, and the classic spaghetti and meatballs at Tavolo.
