Lace up your sneakers and put on your Santa hat! It’s the Dorchester Running Club’s fourth annual Halfway to Dot Day 5k Road Race! This fun run takes place on Saturday, December 8th at 9am!It’s a family friendly run for all ages and abilities along the paths of DCR’s Pope John Paul Park in Dorchester and is certified and sanctioned by USA Track and Field – New England. After the race take part in the Mayor’s Toy Drive and Breakfast at Florian Hall – all youth under 12 who donate a toy are registered at no cost. Registration for adults and teenagers is just $20. All registrants will receive a long-sleeve shirt and finishers will receive a handmade, one-of-a-kind holiday ornament!You can register here!

O Christmas tree! Santa Claus and his posse of merrymakers will be on hand for the Mayor’s Enchanted Trolley Tour! The Mayor’s Enchanted Trolley Tour will continue the festive tradition of lighting holiday trees while bringing holiday spirit to children across Boston. The event is sponsored by Bank of America, and includes visits with Santa, holiday performances, tree lightings and more. Saturday, December 1st at 1pm – Codman Square and Sunday, December 9th at 7 p.m. – Adams Corner (moved from original date of December 2nd due to rain!)

Get in the spirit before the Adams Corner tree lighting at the Old Dorchester Post! The Cedar Grove Civic Association has organized a special family friendly event at 5:30pm on Sunday. Enjoy pizza, music, arts & crafts, face painting, hot cocoa and more! Special thanks to all the local businesses that helped make this event possible!

Drag Queen Story Hour! Drag Queen Story Hour is a program for children ages 3–8 that raises awareness of gender diversity, promotes self-acceptance, and builds empathy through an enjoyable literary experience.This program will be led by local Boston drag queens who will sing songs, read picture books, and engage in a craft activity. This fun event takes place s at the Adams Street Branch of the Public Library.
