Memorial Day Fireworks!
Boston Seaport is partnering with Massachusetts Fallen Heroes for Memorial Day Fireworks on Friday, May 24 starting at 9:00pm in honor of all Fallen Heroes, Veteran and Gold Star Families. The best viewing spots for the firework show are along the Harborwalk at Fan Pier and Pier 4. Visit Seaport Common, home to the MFH Flag Garden, which is currently on display for Patriot Week in honor of the service men and women who lost their lives in wars fought. Be a part of the Mass Fallen Heroes community and their efforts to honor, support and empower veterans and their families by donating today.
AAPI Celebration at Macy’s
Macy’s South Bay is hosting a special AAPI Heritage Month celebration this Saturday from 10am to 12pm spotlighting the rich culture and heritage of the AAPI community with fun activities, delicious food, and empowering workshops. AAPI vendors will showcase their products and there will be free arts and crafts for kids as well as a special Shishedo cosmetics beauty class. The event will also feature performances of lion dances and martial arts.
Vinyl Pop-Up at DBCo
Music lovers, enthusiasts and vinyl collectors won’t want to miss this special pop-up event. Drop by Dorchester Brewing Company on Saturday from 2pm to 6pm to explore a unique collection of new and used limited edition records on display. The event is hosted by WYTHE, a Boston-based record store focused on curating rare and out-of-print editions for the vinyl enthusiast.
Cedar Grove Cemetery Memorial Day Tour
On Monday, May 27th at 12pm, enjoy a 90 minute walking tour to learn the history of Cedar Grove Cemetery and honor the sacrifice of 150 years of Dorchester residents in service to our country.
Night of Love and Mindfulness
Nonprofit organization Heavy Hearted Convos Inc. is hosting a special evening dedicated connection, compassion and celebration of mental health awareness. The event takes place on Saturday evening from 7pm to 9pm at Dareales Clothing on Dot Ave. Guests will enjoy a relaxed and intimate atmosphere of positivity and acceptance. Tickets are $25 and include food, drinks, poetry, music, giveaways and more. The event is for adults aged 21+.
DCR Spray Decks are back in action this weekend
Cool off at one of the many spray decks at DCR playgrounds around the area including the Neponset Landing II Spray Deck on Hill Top Street. Open 8am-8pm.
Free Outdoor Bootcamp
Get your beach body ready with this free 45-minute total body bootcamp that is designed to improve strength, endurance and agility. Led by coach Trevor Garrick, the free event takes place on Sunday from 9am to 10am at Iacono Playground on Readville Street. The event is offered as part of the annual Boston Parks Summer Fitness Series, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Learn about other available workout events here.
Cigar and Cognac Tasting
Celebrate the start of summer with the distinctive taste of Hennessy and premium cigars at this special event. The Pearl is hosting another cigar and cognac night for adults 21+ on Sunday evening at 5pm. Tickets are $50 per person and include access to an exclusive mobile cigar lounge, a Hennessy Cognac tasting experience and a complimentary premium cigar.
Memorial Day Flag Garden
The City of Boston’s flag garden is on display through Monday at Boston Common. Each of the 37,000+ American flags planted at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument represent every brave Massachusetts service member who gave his or her life defending our country since the Revolutionary War.
