Urban Wild Cleanup
Join your neighbors and Urban Wilds staff to help take care of Willowwood Rock, one of Boston’s oldest protected urban wildlands, right here in Dorchester. Volunteers are needed on Saturday morning from 10am to 12pm to assist with picking up trash and improving growing conditions for beautiful wildflowers. There will be opportunities to learn more about Willowwood Rock and how the community can work together to help this special place remain healthy for all. No experience or tools necessary. The Polish American Citizens Club is also seeking volunteers on Saturday at 12pm to help clean the Pulaski Memorial in preparation for Polish Fest Boston.
Free Tree Giveaway
Nonprofit group Speak for the Trees is hosting its next free tree giveaway event this Saturday in Dorchester! Boston residents are invited to a day filled with urban greenery and community spirit at The Food Project Farm on West Cottage Street in Dorchester from 10am to 2pm. Learn more about how to enhance our neighborhood with the gift of trees and other ways you can make a difference in the environment. Trees are available on a first come, first served basis.

The Mother’s Day Walk for Peace is looking for walk marchalls, assist with walker services, help with food, decoration, first aid, merchandise, set up and breakdown! You can learn more here!
Spring Book Sale
Friends of the Jamaica Plain Branch Library are hosting their annual Spring Book Sale this Friday from 9:30am to 5pm, and Saturday from 9:30am to 12pm. Stop by and explore the endless options to add to your home book collection. Hardcover books are on sale for $2 each and paperback books are available for $1.
Brewing Up Diversity: Beer Tasting & Panel
Join Black Brew Dialogues and the Mass Brewers Guild at the Shirley-Eustis House in Roxbury on Saturday for a beer tasting and panel discussion. Learn about current efforts to increase diversity in the brewery space as well as the history of breweries in the Boston area and their roots in 19th century immigration and ingenuity. The event runs from 3pm to 5:30pm and will feature a Q&A discussion with brewers and plenty of opportunities to sample beers! Light snacks and refreshments will also be provided. Tickets are $35.
Mother’s Day at the Zoo!
Celebrate your mom at Franklin Park Zoo where she can enjoy free admission this Sunday! You can enjoy all the new animal moms and their adorable babies including baby Hartmann’s mountain zebra and the new yellow-billed stork chick, both born in April. All guests also can also enjoy free carousel rides and other educational and hands-on activities throughout the day.
