Find something unique at the Local Hand

The Local Hand is a perfect combination of the gift shop and art gallery, and it’s located on the ground level of The Carruth.  Featuring a curated selection of handmade goods by local artists and makers, the Local Hand is owned and operated by Dorchester resident Michaela Flatley. Free Admission to the Zoo

On Sunday,  Zoo New England is offering free admission for all mothers throughout the day. Bring Mom and the entire family to discover the incredible animals that call the Zoo home. Be sure to look for all the animal moms. At Franklin Park Zoo, say hello to moms like Kiki, the western lowland gorilla, and Amari, the Masai giraffe. At Stone Zoo, stop by Windows to the Wild to say hi to two moms who gave birth recently: Prickles, a prehensile-tailed porcupine, gave birth in February, and Lunesta, a Linne’s two-toed sloth, gave birth in March!
