Back to School Bash
The 6Seventeen Champions Foundation and Masjid Al-Quran are teaming up to host a Back to School Bash for the community this Saturday from 2pm to 7pm. Masjid Al-Qur’aan is a place of worship catering to both the Muslim community and the society at large. Hosted with support from the Mayor Michelle Wu Committee, the event will feature activities including live music, art, a street race, food, drinks and a bookbag giveaway. Stop by for an exciting afternoon focused on empowering Greater Boston’s future leaders with fun and entertainment to kick off the school year.
Move for Milk Dance Fitness
Join in for a fun-filled event of movement, community, and support for Black breastfeeding mothers on Saturday from 4pm to 5pm at 4 Star Dance Studio on Blue Hill Ave. The fundraiser featuring Shania the Dancer is an effort to help raise awareness and funds for the Black Maternal Health Crisis and will close out Black Breastfeeding Week. All are welcome, whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just looking to have a good time. Admission is $30 per person.

Sundresses and Mimosas Party
Get ready to sip mimosas and soak up the sun in your favorite sundress at another fabulous day party at The Mix in Dorchester! This Saturday starting at noon you can enjoy refreshing mimosas with friends old and new, dance to the beats of a live DJ, indulge in delicious bites, and soak up the end of summer in an awesome atmosphere. Advance tickets are $25 but ladies wearing sun dresses will get free entry!

Family Healing and Wellness Day
The City of Boston’s Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion is bringing another community event to Nubian Square this Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Stop by the corner of Melnea Cass and Washington for a community healing and wellness day. The free event will include cooking demonstrations by Haley House Chefs, nutritious food from local vendors as well as wellness presentations, writing workshops, and a yoga class.
White Party at Tall Ship
Don’t miss the ultimate summer send-off as you celebrate in style on Labor Day at the magnificent Tall Ship in Boston. Dress in your best radiant white for a chance at $1,000 in prizes! Step onto the pristine white carpet for plenty of opportunities to capture Instagram worthy moments surrounded by breathtaking waterfront views of Boston Harbor. Greater Ashmont Main Street founded the Ashmont Friday Market (originally the Ashmont Farmers Market) in 2008. Since then, the Market has become a beloved Dorchester Institution each Friday in Peabody Square from 2pm-6pm. Enjoy live music, fresh produce, prepared foods, and activities for all ages! This fun neighborhood event takes place at the Ashmont MBTA Plaza.
