The Fourth of July is Friday, and celebrations are happening all weekend long! We’ve rounded up everything from fireworks to special events just for you! Happy Birthday, America!  Check out our roundup here! 

Fourth of July  Run with Dorchester Running Club

Four miles on the 4th! Join the Dorchester Running Club for a four-mile run or a two-mile walk on Friday, July 4th at 8pm at the Neponset River Reservation on Hilltop Street (by the splash pads).  Wear your best red, white and blue.  Refreshments to follow.

Turn it around

USS Constitution is scheduled to go underway from Charlestown Navy Yard on July 4th at 10:00 a.m in honor of Independence Day! USS Constitution’s cruise will be viewable from the Boston Harborwalk, Castle Island, and Charlestown Navy Yard. There will fire a 21-gun salute viewable from Fort Independence on Castle Island at approximately 11:30 a.m. While you’re out at Castle Island, you might as well get some lunch or ice cream at Sullivan’s! The turnaround will commemorate the 249th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. 

Boston Harborfest

Boston Harborfest, one of the country’s largest Fourth of July festivals, returns to Boston Harbor and Downtown Boston for its 43rd edition July 2-4. The long-running festival, celebrating Boston’s revolutionary history and its everyday vibrancy, will feature dozens of events and activities, including live entertainment, historical re-enactments, integration with U.S. Navy Week, fireworks, and more. The latest event schedule is now available at www.bostonharborfest.com.

Hit the Beach

Splish Splash

Splash pads across the City are open and ready for splashing — a great way to stay cool this summer. Additionally, there are several public pools in Boston where you can take a swim.  Many are offering swim lessons and aquatic programs.  Visit boston.gov/splash for an interactive map of locations, accessibility information, and live spray play status – updated hourly.

Park City

Park City will be open for the Fourth of July!  Hit this wildly new neighborhood hot spot! Park City, a massive 30,000-square-foot venue is now open at 383 Dorchester Ave.!  Here are 5 Things You Can Expect at Park City!

Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular

At 8pm on July 4th, the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will take place along the Esplanade, with a concert performance at the Hatch Shell. Musical guests include Le-Ann Rimes, Leslie Odem Jr., Bel Biv Devoe + more. The fireworks display over the Charles River begins at 10:30 pm but you’ll want to arrive when the event gates open at 12pm to secure a spot.
