Weekend Picks – August 3rd

Eat:
Add dbar to you list of things to do this weekend! Enjoy cioppino mussels and their pan roasted Cod. Sip on some housemade sangria. Heaven!

Drink:
Cocktails and tours! The pre-Civil War era historical building in Port Norfolk now houses Boston Harbor Distillery and has a tasting room, distilling facility, event space and a bar that will mix you up a delicious cocktail during tours on Friday and Saturday. Let’s go!

Shop:
Sip, Shop, Sale! The Cue is hosting a special sip and shop on Sunday, August 5th from 12pm-4pm. Enjoy this one day only sale where you can pick up must have style for less! Make sure to follow them on instagram as details will be released closer to the date.

Workout:
Every Thursday night at 6:30pm, enjoy a free fitness class on the grass at District Ave at South Bay. This week’s workout is Kick It by Eliza followed by beers from Dorchester Brewing! Giveaways and goodies for all attendees. For more information and to register, visit here! Space is limited!

Play:
Musical Bingo on Thursday nights at The Industry! From 8-10 enjoy Bingo with music – if you have the song that’s playing you mark it off on your card! Sounds like fun to us! While you’re playing enjoy some Sangria and order up some apps!

Do:
Grab your beach chair and hit the beach!  It’s Tenean Beach Day on Sunday, August 5th from 12pm-5pm hosted by the Port Norfolk Civic Association.  This FREE family friendly day will feature bounce houses, dunk tanks, sumo suits, canoes, paddle boards, food, ice cream, a pirate story teller, the Boston Circus Guild, face painting and more!  Holy Moly!  Talk about fun in the sun! There will also be a live DJ, Larry the Lobster and friends, and Dot Art!Please note – initially the date was Saturday, August 4th but was changed to Sunday August 5th due to weather forecast!

Audition:
Are a salt of the earth “real person” with a “tough face?” Well, have we got an audition for you! Boston Casting is hosting an open casting call this Saturday for a new Mark Wahlberg film shot in Boston. They are looking for “construction workers, blue collar workers, DPW workers, fishermen, mob guys, etc.” Casting directors are hoping to fill speaking roles and to hire extras. Free Friday!
Get out there and have some fun…….for FREE! The Highland Street Foundation would like to pick up the tab on admission to Boston area attractions. Isn’t that nice? Enjoy free admission to places like the JFK Library, The Children’s Museum, Peabody Essex Museum, the Greenway Carousel and many more.
