According to the Boston Globe, nine Walgreens locations across Massachusetts, including one in Dorchester, are set to close. The chain has approximately 8,500 stores in the United States, and 140 of those are in Massachusetts.

Walgreens is making some big cuts. The company announced last week that about 500 store closures will happen this fiscal year after reporting a $3 billion loss in the fourth quarter. Despite the financial hit, officials at the Deerfield, Illinois-based pharmacy giant say they’re staying optimistic about the chain’s long-term future.

One of the nine on the list of closures includes the Walgreens located at 757 Gallivan Boulevard in Dorchester.
