First Update via MSP:

Massachusetts State Police are investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash on Morrissey Boulevard in Dorchester that resulted in the fatalities of two occupants. A third occupant of the vehicle is in grave condition at a Boston hospital, while a fourth is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The victims are all males. Three are believed to be teenage juveniles. Investigators are still confirming identities of the victims.

A State Trooper who was on patrol on Morrissey Boulevard observed the vehicle crash on the northbound (inbound) side at 3:17 AM, in the vicinity of UMass-Boston. Additional State Police and Boston Police patrols responded to the scene, as did Boston Fire and EMS.

One victim was determined to be deceased on-scene. The three others were transported to various Boston hospitals; one of those victims was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Preliminary investigation suggests the four occupants were travelling at a high rate of speed in a 2013 Hyundai Accent.

The facts and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Troopers from the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County, State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police-South Boston Barracks.

The rescue response and investigation necessitated the partial closure of Morrissey Boulevard. All lanes were reopened as of approximately 7:30 AM.

UPDATE – One occupant of the Hyundai who died in this crash has been identified as a 14-year-old male from Dorchester. The second deceased occupant, also a teenage male, has been tentatively identified; his age and city of residence will not be released until identification is confirmed.  A third occupant of the vehicle, also a male teenager, has not been identified at this time. He remains in a Boston hospital in grave condition and efforts to identify him continue.

The fourth occupant of the Hyundai, identified as a 15-year-old male from Dorchester, remains in a Boston hospital and is expected to survive.

The investigation has determined that the Hyundai was reported stolen out of Jamaica Plain this morning.

A firearm was located in the crashed vehicle and was secured by the State Police Ballistics Unit. The vehicle was towed to a State Police facility for further investigation.

The investigation into the facts and circumstances of the incident, including the actions of the four juveniles, and the sequence of events, prior to the crash, remains active. That investigation is being led by State Police detectives with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police-South Boston Barracks.

The State Police do not release names of victims age 17 and younger, as they are considered juveniles under state law.
