At about 12:51 AM, on Monday, July 10, 2023, an officer assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested Lenin Pimentel, 23, of Boston, and Jacari Cosgrove, 25, of Dorchester on drug related charges.
The officer was on patrol in the area of Washington Street and Vassar Street when he observed a motor vehicle fail to stop for a red light and was operating at a high rate of speed. The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens to initiated a traffic stop.
As the officer approached the motor vehicle, the officer observed the occupants to be make abrupt movements which caused the vehicle to shake. The officer requested for the operator’s license and registration, but he did not have one. As assisting officers arrived on scene, officers observed all occupants to be not wearing seatbelts, and requested identification.
The officers requested the occupants to exit the vehicle, and immediately observed what they believed to be crack cocaine. After further investigation, officers recovered multiple plastic baggies believed to be crack cocaine and crystal methamphetamine. The crack cocaine was approximately 32 grams, and the methamphetamine was approximately 29 grams.
Pimentel was placed under arrest and charged with; Trafficking of Cocaine, Trafficking of Methamphetamine and Two counts of Possession of Class B. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
Cosgrove was placed under arrest and charged with; Two counts of Possession of Class B, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He is expected to be arraigned Dorchester District Court.
