Preliminary Election – Tuesday, September 24th

On Tuesday, September 24th, the City of Boston will hold a Preliminary Election. In addition to our district councilor, we will be voting to narrow down the list of candidates vying for an At-Large City Council seat. There are 15 candidates currently, including 4 incumbents, and after we vote on Tuesday, the top 8 vote-getters will move to the General Election which will be held on Tuesday, November 5th. In that election the top 4 vote-getters will be Boston’s At-Large City Councilors.  Check out our guide here! 

Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Guests will be transported to the Land of Oz for dbar’s Show Tune Tuesday. Starting at 9:00 p.m., video clips from the Wizard of Oz, Wicked, The Wiz, and more will be shown as diners enjoy their meals. Dbar will also be giving away a pair of tickets to see Varla Jean Merman and Judy Gold at the Boston Center for the Arts on Saturday, October 19. The event is free to attend, and guest may reserve tables via OpenTable or by calling 617-265-4490.

Calling all Kids – Casting Call

Now casting kids in the Boston area ages 6-10 for “Kids Say the Darndest Things” with Tiffany Haddish!  “KSTDT” airs on ABC on Sundays this Fall and features Tiffany Haddish as the host!  You can fill out the online application here!  For additional details, email: [email protected] or call 818-666-3606 and ask to speak with the Casting Team for Kids Say The Darndest Things.

Climate Ready Dorchester Workshop

Join our first community open house to learn more about Climate Ready Dorchester! This open house will take place on  September 25th, 6-8 pm at the BCYF Leahy-Holloran Community Center.  This event will have a short presentation at 6 pm followed by an open poster session. You may RSVP here. Conscious Reggae Band at Gilman Chapel

Oh, you’re in for a real treat when you see Conscious Reggae perform!  And you’re even luckier when you get to see them in a cool setting like Gilman Chapel at Cedar Grove Cemetery!  On Thursday, September 26th, enjoy a performance by Conscious Reggae at 7pm at Gilman Chapel.  Tickets are $15 and doors open at 6:30pm.
