Taylor Swift Album Release Party
Tortured poets unite! Teens and tweens are invited to celebrate the release of Taylor Swift’s newest album with a special party at the Adams Street Branch Library on Saturday at 3pm. The free event will include friendship bracelet-making, bingo and of course, plenty of Taylor’s music! Guests are encouraged to come dressed inspired by their favorite Taylor album. Refreshments will be provided.
Neponset Earth Day Cleanup
Join the Neponset River Watershed Association to help clean up the waterways and parks across the Neponset area this weekend in recognition of Earth Day. Volunteers are needed on Saturday morning from 9am to 12pm at locations across Dorchester, Quincy, Mattapan, Milton and Hyde Park. Tools and cleanup supplies will be provided, but don’t forget to bring your favorite pair of work gloves! Get the details and register here.
Kids’ Painting Class
Calling all crafty kids! The Local Hand is hosting an art workshop this Saturday, with a chance to paint and decorate your own custom wooden picture frame. It’s the perfect idea for a Mother’s or Father’s Day gift. The cost is $25 per child, including supplies. All ages are welcome.
Mixology Class at Ghost Pepper
Have you ever wanted to learn to pour the perfect cocktail? Learn from experts at the return of this popular instructor-led mixology class at Ghost Pepper this Sunday starting at 11:30am. Guests will learn the basics of mixology techniques, as well as what tools and glassware are needed to properly make delicious cocktails. Tickets are $50 and there are limited seats available. The fun will continue with a brunch and day party following the event.
420 Fest at Castle Island Brewery
Join Castle Island Brewery for the high holiday on Saturday, April 20th, starting at 1pm. There will be a special release beer, a tie-dye station, and a learn-to-roll station with Native Sun! Dan Walker will be performing live reggae music from 1-4pm. Make sure to stop by!
Meet the Farmer
Boston Farms Community Land Trust (Boston Farms) turns vacant urban land into neighborhood farms. This weekend, the group invites neighbors and friends to check out their newest farmsite, Westville Farm, located at 100-106 Westville Street in Dorchester. Stop by from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday for music, food, refreshments and to learn about the farm plans for the coming season from Farmer Robin Saunders.
Volunteer Tree Care Event
This earth friendly event will take place on Saturday, April 20th from 10am-1pm at Harambee Park – 930 Blue Hill Ave. Tree care activities include: mulching, trash colletion, weeding, and checking tree stakes,. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
Bonus: Celebrate Earth Day at Daily Table on Monday from 1pm to 3pm and enjoy giveaways of free seedlings as well as samples from local and eco-friendly partners like Brewer’s Crackers and Cindy’s Kitchen (dips and dressings).
