Greater Boston Handball Reunion

Whether you play(ed) handball at the L, the Y or the BAC, this event is for you! It’s the Greater Boston Handball Reunion on Saturday, November 23rd from 7pm-Midnight at the Seapoint Bar & Grill – 367 East Eighth Street. Tickets are $15 at the door. Food is provided. Cash bar.

Spa Yoga A Open Doors

SPA Yoga®is slow-flow, floor-based, whole-body sensory experience based on Fluid Yoga sequencing. By engaging all five of the senses with soft candlelight, soothing music, aromatherapy, lots of hands-on assists and a renewed awareness of taste (and sometimes chocolate!), Spa aligns practitioners with the inner wisdom of deep relaxation. The physical practice takes time to open the body’s subtle energy and prepares students to experience new depths of awareness in an extended, guided shavasana or Yoga Nidra. During SPA Yoga®, you may discover extra hands on assists and massages, a calming candlelit room atmosphere, delightful scents and beautiful music in the background. Be prepared to feel like you just walked out of a spa.  This self-care event takes place on Sunday, November 24th from 2pm-4pm at Open Doors. Hidden Heroes and Sheroes Celebration

The annual Hidden Heroes and Sheroes Celebration hosted by the Codman Square Neighborhood Council and the Greater Four Corners Action Coalition will be held on Friday, November 22nd from 6-8:30 p.m. in the Great Hall, 6 Norfolk St., Dorchester.  At this celebration, we honor individuals in the community who have demonstrated leadership, initiative and commitment to improving the quality of life in our neighborhood are honored. The 2019 awardees are: Cathy Baker-Eclipse, Millennium Award; Burgess Realty and Peter Robinson, Civic Leadership Award; Cynthia Beckford Brewington and Ann Thorne – Neighborhood Leadership Award; and Shakeriah Baxter and Saffiyah Coker – Youth Award. Tickets are $30 each. Ninety percent of ticket sales go toward two $1,500 educational scholarships for the two youth awardees. These scholarships are now known as the Rev.
