Virtual Community Meeting about BCYF Curley Community Center Renovations
Please join Boston Centers for Youth & Families, and the City of Boston’s Public Facilities Department for a virtual meeting to continue the discussion about upcoming renovations to the BCYF Curley Community Center in South Boston on Thursday, June 18 at 6 p.m. Due to the current public health crisis, participants will be able to join via computer or phone using WebEx. This meeting will share schedule updates, a presentation showing design progress and updates on the relocation of some of the center’s programming. Artists from the Dorchester Art Project have been selected to customize and paint sets of window boxes, planters, pots, and birdhouses with original artwork. Corpse Flower Bloom Watch at the Franklin Park Zoo
Fester – the corpse flower – is ready to bloom! The plant measures 4-feet tall and can be seen on display in the Outback Trail section of Franklin Park Zoo. Corpse flower blooms are a unique and rare experience – these exotic flowers will often go many years between blooms, which last for only 24 – 48 hours! You can check on its progress here!
