Flag Football

Don’t forget to register for flag football! The Greater Neponset Flag Football League 2019 season is now open for registration. Season begins September 13th, 2019. Due to park renovations, the league will be moving to Hemey Park this season.

Leprechaun Division
(ages 4-6): plays Saturdays at 8:30AM or 9:30AM
Bulldog Division
(ages 7-9): plays either Fridays at 7:00PM, or Saturdays at 10:30AM or 11:30AM
Shamrock Division
(ages 10-12): plays Fridays at 5:00PM or 6:00PM
Eagles Division
(ages 13-15): plays Fridays at 7:00PM or 8:00PM

Hello Dolly

At this week’s Showtune Tuesday, dbar is giving away two tickets to Hello Dolly for the Wednesday, August 14th 7pm performance plus a VIP meet and greet with the entire cast! Tickets are valued at $500.

Brews at the Zoo

Brew at the Zoo! Who says you have to be a kid to enjoy the zoo? Brew at the Zoo – a 21 plus event – is returning to theFranklin Park Zoo this Saturday, August 17th 5pm-9pm. Brew at the Zoo is a beer-tasting event that offers guests the opportunity to walk on the wild side as they sample offerings from local breweries and restaurants. Plenty of activities, among them the Wicked BIG Bugs exhibit —available this year only—, where visitors will encounter huge sized versions of very detailed tarantulas, ants and scorpions, among others. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased here! 

Save the Date

Mayor Martin J. Walsh and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department invite city youngsters to come celebrate the season at the 2019 ParkARTS Boston Children’s Summer Festival on Tuesday, August 20, at Franklin Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children and families from throughout Boston have the opportunity to participate in a variety of free activities from various exhibitors including “Bubble Guy” Jim Dichter, ParkARTS arts and crafts, New England Aquarium, Outdoor Rx, Mass Hort, face painting, interactive building blocks with LEGOLAND, and more.
