Social Distancing Weekend Picks – Memorial Day Edition

BCYH Leahy Holloran Community Center will be hosting a Drive-Thru Character Parade on Friday, May 22nd 12:30pm-2pm.  Enter Worrell Street through Popes Hill Street and exit Tilesboro Street.

Grill & Chill

Memorial Day is synonymous with backyard cookouts and barbecues!  Even though this year looks a little different, you can still celebrate with some delicious on the grill.  Bred Gourmet is offering two special Memorial Day packages that feature burgers, wings and beer!  Get the details here! Orders must be placed by Friday!

Lace up your sneakers and run

Dorchester Running Club has organized a fun relay run for Memorial Day Weekend.  Register for a 30 minute slot to run or walk the 3 mile loop in Adams Village solo or with those you are quarantining with or take a mile and pass it off to another person on your team. This event will start at 6am with the last person finishing before 9pm to respect curfew in Boston. Not in Boston? Register and virtually join in from anywhere!

Registration is just $20 or you can add on and get a DRC Under Armour shirt for a $30 registration. Make sure you follow them on their Facebook Event Page for pre and post run takeout ideas, prize categories and raffle items, so click that attending button and join in on the virtual fun!  You can learn more here!

Do you miss going to bars and restaurants and ordering your favorite cocktails? Yellow Door is offering margarita kits for takeout!  Perfect for your backyard cookouts or hanging on your deck!

Cookout Essentials

American Provisions has all the sides and snacks you’ll need for your BBQ or at-home picnic! Order pineapple mango salsa, all the chips, ground beef, rolls, pasta salad, guacamole, mac n cheese! The Ice Creamsmith is offering a special build your own sundaes package! 1 Quart Vanilla and 1 Quart Chocolate, 1 half-pint each hot fudge, caramel and strawberry sauce, whipped cream, nuts, sprinkles and cherries. Comes with a free ice cream scoop — all for $49. Order in advance! 

Curbside Pop Up

The Industry is hosting a curbside pop up grab delicious food to go from 3-5pm on Saturday and visit the our open windows pop-up shop.  There will also be specialty cocktail kits to go, handmade jewelry and manicure gift cards.

Beginning Friday May 22nd Chill On Park will be open every day from 12pm-9am!
