Boston Restaurant Talk is reporting that “Morrissey Hall” is hoping to get a license to operate from the City of Boston to operate at the old Boston Globe Headquarters at 135 Morrissey Blvd. The new development, called The BEAT, (Boston Exchange for Accelerated Technology) is in the process of transforming into a multi-tenant innovation park that will include restaurants, retail, and maybe even a spot to grab a drink while you explore.
According to the City of Boston licensing board hearing page, Morrissey Hall will have four levels, a seasonal back patio, a roof deck, and seating for 237.
Back in April, it was reported that the developer for the Morrissey Boulevard site would be seeking an all-alcohol restaurant license for a food + drink hall managed by Craft Foods. The food/drink hall will be on the main floor of the building and the liquor license would cover that area plus an atrium and back patio complete with repurposed Globe delivery truck as a bar cart.
So it sounds like things are in motion to make “Morrissey Hall” a reality!

Not to be a negative Nelly but one word” traffic” Between the new apartments buildings, Port Norfolk building expansion and now this how can Morrissey Blvd remain a viable route commute home to Dot.
Traffic, Traffic, Traffic…
Fully support this and finally bringing more restaurants to the community. Disregard the naysayers, they are not representative of us all. Sorry to the Karens, but I would love to see this happen and for my Parents to have more places nearby to enjoy
Would absolutely love this! A great use of otherwise abandoned space that helps fill a large gap in the community. And will be within walking or biking distance for so many people in our community.
God forbid anyone walks 7 minutes from the JFK/Umass T stop.
