Mix and mingle with friends and neighbors at a special fundraiser for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. Dorchester resident and retired BPS paraprofessional Peggie O’Neil-Mirabile is a brain aneurysm survivor and is a member of Team Rockstar participating in the 17th Annual Arterial Challenge at Fenway Park on Sunday, April 22nd. Post-walk, Peggie is hosting an additional fundraiser beginning at 12pm at the 12 Ben’s – 315 Adams Street (Upstairs Room). There will be food, comedy, music, dancing, and raffles including a free trip to the Irish Village down the cape!  Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance (you can direct message Peggie via Facebook) or you can pay at the door! Some come on out for a Sunday Funday and support Peggie and her mission to raise awareness and funds for a great cause!

All proceeds will go to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation! If you would like to join the walk, you can register here! If you would like to support Team Rockstar – you can make a donation here!

In the United States one in 50 people have an unruptured brain aneurysm. Each year, an estimated 30,000 people suffer a brain aneurysm rupture, 40 percent of which are fatal. Of those who survive, about 66 percent suffer some permanent neurological deficit. The combined lost wages of survivors of brain aneurysm ruptures and their caretakers are approximately $138 million per year.

Through your support, the Brain Aneurysm Foundation will be able to continue to provide support and educational materials and information to brain aneurysm patients, their families, and the medical community and to promote critical awareness of brain aneurysms which will lead to earlier detection. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is funding essential research that will promote a better understanding of why this condition happens and identify those at risk before an aneurysm rupture occurs. Thank you for making a difference with your support.
