What the heck….

NBC10 Boston is reporting that Tim Shannon – a Dorchester resident – was nearly struck by a large chunk of metal and concrete that fell from Savin Hill Station over the weekend.

A metal panel underneath a concrete set of stairs broke away on Sunday night. The MBTA told NBC10 that they inspected the area and made some minor repairs. They also stated the staircase was “structurally sound.”

This incident follows another one that involved a set stairs near JFK station last month in which an associate professor from Boston University fell through and died. The staircase was on state property.

Be careful out there.
