On Thursday, March 21, 2024, at approximately 10:21 AM, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) apprehended Pedro Carbuccia, aged 50, from Mattapan, on charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Officers were dispatched to the Burger King located at 100 Washington St in Dorchester following reports of an individual wielding a knife. Upon arrival, officers were briefed by the victim, who recounted that while waiting to place an order inside the store, they witnessed the suspect displaying disrespectful behavior towards an elderly customer. The victim intervened, advising the suspect to show more respect, which led to a verbal altercation. Subsequently, the suspect emerged from behind the counter brandishing a knife, challenging the victim to engage in a physical altercation. Store employees intervened and escorted the suspect outside in an effort to defuse the situation, while the victim contacted 911. Upon police arrival, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

Carbuccia was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. He is scheduled to appear for arraignment at Dorchester District Court.
