Perfect way to shop local!

After a successful holiday season, the “Made in Dorchester” fundraiser for the Mather School is back for Mother’s Day.

This past winter, the Mather Elementary School’s Parent Council teamed up with a group of local makers in Dorchester to create a holiday gift box fundraiser. Their combined efforts raised over $12,000 for the Mather School and $12,000 for local makers.

Now, they’ve partnered again to create a Mother’s Day Tote Bag for sale this season. Each “Made in Dorchester” tote features goods produced locally by small business owners in the neighborhood. A portion of the sale of each tote will go toward fundraising efforts for the Mather Elementary School. By purchasing a tote bag, shoppers can put their money back into the community, supporting small business owners and local schools at the same time.

The tote bags are priced at $90, and include items from the following small business:

  • Dorchester tote bag from American Provisions
  • Cookies from Top Shelf Cookies
  •  “Dot Mom” mug and “Wildflowers of Franklin Park” greeting card from artist Jesse Haley
  • 4 oz. candle from Triple Decker Candle Co.
  • Bee balm from Dot Bee Co.
  • Vietnamese coffee roasted by Reign Drink Lab

Tote bags will be on sale at www.MadeInDorchester.com through April 27 and will be available for local pickup at home.stead bakery during normal business hours. Customers will be alerted via email when their tote bag is ready for pickup. Follow them on Instagram for updates at @madein_dot.
