On Monday, January 20, 2025, at approximately 4:19 PM, Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested two 15-year-old juvenile males on motor vehicle and firearm-related charges following a traffic stop at 1118 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester.
While on patrol, Officers observed a vehicle traveling inbound on Blue Hill Avenue at an excessive speed. They activated their emergency lights and sirens, initiating a traffic stop near 1117 Blue Hill Avenue.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Officers observed four occupants. After speaking with the driver, Officers determined that he did not have a valid driver’s license. As Officers continued their investigation, they noticed one of the passengers exhibiting signs of nervousness, including shaking and other behaviors consistent with an individual in possession of a firearm.
Further investigation confirmed that the passenger was armed. He was immediately taken into custody, and Officers recovered a Glock 43 with an extended magazine containing eight 9mm rounds. There were no rounds in the chamber.
The 15-year-old driver was arrested and charged with Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The 15-year-old passenger was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm. Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
