Dorchester jazz lovers, get ready for a night of incredible music! The Greater Ashmont Main Street’s Dot Jazz Series is back this month with a special performance featuring Daniel Ian Smith, a renowned saxophonist, flutist, educator, and composer with over 35 years of experience on both national and international stages.
Smith, a longtime faculty member in Berklee’s Harmony and Jazz Composition departments, has an impressive resume—from leading the critically acclaimed New World Jazz Composers Octet to appearing as a featured soloist on the 2023 Grammy-nominated recording of The Life and Times of Malcolm X by the Boston Modern Orchestra Project.
For this performance, he’ll be joined by an all-star lineup:
