Gheesh…
A Dorchester woman pleaded guilty to carrying out many fraudulent transactions while working for a local real estate firm, Alliance Realty.
Stacey Sanchez-Mercedes, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of larceny over $1,200 this past Friday. She was also accused of overcharging tenants and stealing more than $100,000.
According to Boston.com, last December, members of Alliance Realty’s management team told Boston police that Sanchez-Mercedes had committed numerous fraudulent transactions with clients over a one-year period.
In addition to charging brokers fees, which Alliance Realty never did, Sanches-Mercedes also altered the rental agreement. The same went down like this: Sanchez-Mercedes would overcharge tenants by asking for a $2,000 security deposit, then change the amount to $1,000 on the agreement and pocket the difference.
She also faked eviction notices and applied for state rental assistance on the tenants’ behalf, then pocketed the money. If that wasn’t bad enough, tenants told Alliance Realty that Sanchez-Mercedes told them to take their rent money to a Roslindale barbershop and give it to a man named “George” – who would write out a receipt for the money. Alliance Realty never saw that money.
Needless to say, the judge sentenced Sanchez-Mercedes to a two-year continuance without a finding. She will be back in court in October for a restitution hearing.

She got caught but there’s still other ones out there doing the same thing.
Continued without a finding? Couldn’t they prove these accusations in court? Another slap on the wrist. Restitution should be paying back every penny of stolen money. Bet that doesn’t happen either!!
If convicted pay back the money and do some jail time.
Everything doesn’t warrant jail time ,she did not physically hurt or harm anyone…She definitely should be ordered to pay back Every penny she stole plus tax.
That’s a pretty smart hustle if you ask me however if you get caught you got to pay the price I think she was pretty slick good game girl but now you going to pay for your mistake however you’re getting a pretty big break for a really good hustle
A lot more yessss tons of them vu landlords in Boston need to get caught fast
