On Monday, September 1, 2025, officers from the District D-4 (South End/Back Bay) Drug Control Unit arrested 51-year-old Cyndi Blount, of Dorchester, for multiple drug-related offenses during a directed patrol in the area of Melnea Cass Boulevard and Massachusetts Avenue.

At about 2:47 PM, officers observed Blount conduct multiple hand-to-hand transactions believed to be drug sales. Other officers stopped a suspected buyer a short distance away on Massachusetts Avenue and recovered a plastic bag containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine.

Based on this evidence, officers approached Blount near 891 Massachusetts Avenue and placed her under arrest. A search at the scene recovered two plastic bags containing suspected fentanyl. She was transported to District D-4 for booking, where a further search revealed the following:

  • Fentanyl Seized (Total: Approx. 43 grams)

    • 2 plastic bags (approx. 8 grams)
    • 3 plastic bags (approx. 33 grams)
    • 1 plastic bag (approx. 2 grams)
  • Crack Cocaine Seized (Total: Approx. 47 grams)

    • Loose rock (approx. 1 gram)
    • 1 large plastic bag (approx. 29 grams)
    • 1 medium plastic bag (approx. 17 grams)
    • Loose piece from pants pocket

In total, officers seized approximately 43 grams of fentanyl and 47 grams of crack cocaine. Officers also seized an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from Blount.

Blount is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on the following charges:

  • Distribution of Class B Drugs (Crack Cocaine)
  • Trafficking Class A Drugs (Fentanyl)
  • Trafficking Class B Drugs (Crack Cocaine)
  • Distribution of Class B Drugs, 2nd and Subsequent Offense

During the booking process, Blount ingested an unknown quantity of fentanyl and was transported to a local hospital for treatment before being returned to District D-4.
