Dorchester Community Fridge has a new look but same important mission for 2026

On Friday, the Dorchester Community Fridge announced a fresh new look for 2026 created by local Dorchester artist Jesse Haley

The design is inspired by the iconic neighborhood landmark gas tank created by Sister Corita Kent aka the rainbow swash.

The good people behind the community fridge also updated their donation guide, which you can find pinned on their Instagram page.

How it works:

The community fridge is located at 110 Claybourne Street by the ABCD office. A team of volunteers stops by three times a day to keep it stocked with essentials and make sure everything inside is fresh and within date. The Dorchester-based organization is seeking volunteers to help pick up and drop off food, but neighbors are also encouraged to donate. Just make sure items are clean, clearly labeled, and not expired.
