BPD is actively investigating a shooting that took place Sunday night in the area of Dudley Street and Columbia Road. A male victim suffered a gun shot wound and later died at a local hospital.

At about 11:37 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2019, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of Dudley Street and Columbia Road in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Boston Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.

In other news, two suspects were arrested in connection with the July 4th shooting in Dorchester that left an 8-year-old girl injured.
