The Dorchester Reporter is reporting that after the murder of Xavier Rivas on September 2nd, in addition to the loud weekend parties, Old Road – a shortcut between Blue Hill Ave. and Columbia Road will be closed on weekend nights.
According to the article, this street has gotten out of control with parties that last through the night until the next day. The closing barriers will be put in place from 8:30 p.m. to around 3 a.m.
In an effort to control the weekend parties, other streets, and area closures include Franklin Park and Arnold Arboretum, in addition to parts of Westview Street, Talbot Avenue and American Legion Highway at the Mattapan/Roslindale line.

Whu doesn’t BPD do its job regarding these disturbances and stop inconveniencing citizens who have done nothing wrong
There is NO help – the officers are shuffled around to various districts of the city – every night the EDT teams are dispatched to Mass & Cass for their tours – that’s a two person response cruiser depleted from each district – if Boston residents were aware of the limited manpower on duty on the 11:45PM – 7:30AM shift – they would be pretty worried & rightfully upset .
Why are there even being wasted over at Mass and Cass if nothing is being done about the activity there? Your taking police out of needed neighborhood and placing them at Mass and Cass to sit and watch illegal drug and sex activity.!!!! Wake up mayor”harm reduction” is killing people of Boston.
