At about 7:30 PM, Wednesday, May, 25, 2022, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) made an on-site firearm arrest at the intersection of Norfolk Street and Milton Avenue in Dorchester.

Officers were responding to a call for shots fired in the area when they observed a male, later identified as, Isaiah Bates, 26, of Roxbury, walking near the area. When Bates noticed the police, he quickly turned and walked in the opposite direction. Officers made contact with Bates and after further investigation, recovered a firearm from his right front pocket. The firearm was determined to be a loaded American Tactical Firefly .22, with one round in the chamber and ten rounds in the magazine.

Isaiah Bates was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Loaded firearm on a Public Way. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
