At about 2:01 AM, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested Donnell Butler, 36, of Boston, on breaking and entering charges and various warrants.
Officers responded to the area of 12 Arcadia Street for a report of a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect closing the driver’s side door to the victim’s vehicle. Once the suspect observed officers, he immediately dropped his backpack and tried to jump over a fence in an attempt to flee.
Officers were quickly able to stop the suspect and a struggle ensued. Officers ordered the suspect to stop resisting which he refused. Additional officers arrived on scene, and the suspect was eventually secured into handcuffs.
Officers conducted a search incident to arrest and recovered an electric stun gun, two screwdrivers, an electric screwdriver, socket wrench, and a socket set consistent with burglarious tools. Officers also recovered a switchblade knife from the suspect’s waistband area.
Officers were aware that the suspect was recently featured on the Boston Police Department’s Most Wanted List. The suspect was wanted on five warrants to include charges of Breaking and Entering, Larceny from a Building, Receiving Stolen Property, and Attempt to Commit a Crime.
Butler was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Court for the following charges:
– Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime for a Felony
– Possession of an Electric Stun Gun
– Possession of Burglarious Tools
– Resist Arrest
