Mayor Walsh announced on Thursday that outdoor dining will be back in 2021 starting in April through December 1st. Restaurants can officially apply for a permit on the City’s website.
Mayor Walsh reported that nearly 550 Boston restaurants extended their dining space outdoors – 415 restaurants on City streets/land.
Earlier this month, restaurants in the neighborhood that had a temporary city permit for outdoor dining in 2020 had to close up shop.
