It’s Official
Jon Santiago – a second-term Massachusetts state rep, who is also an emergency room physician at Boston Medical Center and a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, announced on Tuesday morning that he’d like to add mayor of Boston to his list of titles!

The 38-year-old grew up in subsidized housing and attended Boston Public School in addition to serving in the Peace Corps after college. Santiago received his medical degree from Yale and returned to Boston after traveling and working abroad for five years. He is now an emergency medicine doctor at BMC.
Three other candidates have also announced they are running including City Councilor-at-Large Michelle Wu, City Councilor Andrea Campbell and City Councilor-at-Large Annissa Essaibi George.
