How cool is this?
Academy Award nominated actress Amy Adams is making a comedy feature about The Lazy Susans, a rock band made up of musical moms from Milton. The film will be appropriately named, Lazy Susans, and Adams will both produce and star in it. Oscar nominees Annie Mumolo (Bridesmaids) and Stan Chervin (Moneyball) will be writing the script for the feature film
The film is based on a true story featured in Boston Magazine in 2022, chronicling how the band of five women came to be! In a nutshell, the Lazy Susans are five working moms from Milton who started the band during the pandemic. Some of the band members never even picked up an instrument. Six months later, they played at the Milton Porchfest, and eight months after that they were booked on the Kelly Clarkson Show!
According to The Lazy Susans website, they have been writing original songs influenced by artists ranging from Liz Phair to Lizzo, booking gigs around the Boston area, and encouraging other newbie musicians to follow their dreams.
We love that!
The Lazy Susans will be playing at Milton Porchfest on September 21st – you can get the details here.
Stay tuned for more details about casting and film release date!
