Today we remember!
The Boston Fire Department will have a moment of silence ceremony at neighborhood firehouses across the city. At 9:45, BFD apparatus will be taken out of quarters to the apron in front of the firehouse. All on duty will assemble at attention for a moment of silence at 9:50. At 9:55, BFD will strike the FDNY signal of 5-5-5-5- (two rounds) for the time the South Tower Collapse. The flag will be lowered to half-staff followed by another minute of complete silence.
Our Lady of Good Voyage/Seaport Shrine is hosting a special prayer service of remembrance on Tuesday, September 11th at 7pm. In addition to the prayer service there will be a candlelit procession from the Shrine to the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Memorial.
