MBTA will hand out Dunkin gift cards to commuters on Monday

Representatives from the MBTA will be handing out  Dunkin’ gift cards loaded with $5 in value to riders as a thank you for taking the T at select stations. For a full list of stations and information visit here!

NBC10 Boston, Telemundo Boston and NECN, in partnership with the Dorchester Reporter and the Bay State Banner, will host, broadcast and livestream an hour-long live general election Boston mayoral debate inside the NBCUniversal Boston Media Center on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. The second and final debate with candidates Annissa Essaibi George and Michelle Wu will be moderated by Latoya Edwards. The General Election for Mayor of Boston and City Council is on Tuesday, November 2nd. Here are our takeaways from last debate last week. 

See the new baby giraffe at Franklin Park

The news of the new baby girl giraffe calf born at the Franklin Park Zoo excited us all! Well, you’ll be able to see her and her mom this week at the Zoo! Exhibit hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for calf and mom, Amari.

Spooky Spelling Bee at Dorchester Brewing Co.

Put your spelling skills to the test at this pub-style competition hosted by Stonewall Sports Boston and emceed by local drag queen Betti Bottom! Participants will compete and prizes will be given to the top contestants. All proceeds will go to History UnErased, a non profit bringing LGBTQ history into the mainstream curriculum. The fun takes place on Tuesday, October 19th 7pm-9:30pm at Dorchester Brewing Co.  You can purchase your tickets here for $5! 

The Savin Hillbillies playing at Savin Hill Park

The Savin Hillbillies will be playing Sunday, October 24 between 1pm and 4pm at Savin Hill Park! Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy the show!  Or bring your own instrument and join in the fun!
